I accidentally applied for my FBI Clearance through The Department of Education, HOW can I fix this?
I am panicking! I am in the process of applying for a job in Korea. I applied for my FBI Clearance in FEBRUARY, and sent the results to my recruiter who said everything was fine, and to have it apostilled and sent to Korea. I did everything that was asked of me and now it's JUNE 17th, and I'm being told that my FBI Clearance is not the OFFICIAL form. I applied through The Department of Education's Cogent systems which does not provide the Official Copy of my FBI Clearance, and I've been on the phone all day with the FBI. Everyone has stated that the only thing that I can do is re-apply for my entire FBI Clearance process. I am sick to death at the thought that I can lose my job interview process that I began in February just due to this small mistake. The formal clearance is due July 15th in order for me to be placed in Korea, and the FBI Check takes between 6 weeks and 3 months. I am royally F*CKED. Not to mention, I already HAVE an F-4 Residency Visa for Korea. I have already quit my job, moved out of my apartment, and I'm in the process of selling my car. WHAT can I do to explain to the FBI that I ALREADY had the check performed? I just need an official form? No one seems to understand what's going on.
