My DROID PRO wont let me change my notification ringtone?

so i downloaded an app so i could get ringtones, now i want to change it back to one of the default rings. but i select it, and it still rings as the song. I'll go back to menu, sounds, and everything and the default one is selected, but the song still plays. any ideas?
