What is the average age most people are entering medical school?

I am very interested in medical school. I am 23 now, and graduating soon with my undergrad degree. I will be 24 by the time I graduate, but I still have some pre-reqs to get done and also some volunteer/clinical work to accomplish. I'm thinking that I will be at least 26 or maybe even 27 by the time I actually enter med school (if I get accepted, and if I get accepted the first round). By the time I complete the schooling, and residency will I still have enough time to have a nice long career?
